GIVE MORE THAN YOU TOOK: WHY THE ANCIENT PHILOSOPHERS KNEW ABOUT A FORM OF PROTECTION YOU CANNOT BUY IN A STORE.

In our age, when information crashes down on us from smartphone screens, when we communicate, work, quarrel, and make peace without seeing the other person, the subject of energy protection has ceased to be the preserve of a chosen few mystics. It has become an everyday necessity. More and more often, we feel an inexplicable exhaustion after speaking with an unpleasant person, we notice how someone else's malice or envy literally "switches us off" for several hours, or even days. And instinctively, we begin to look for ways to put up a shield, clear the space, and close ourselves off.

But if we look deeper, it turns out that long before the term "energy-informational interactions" appeared, the sages of antiquity not only knew of the existence of such afflictions, but also left us keys to protection. And these keys, quite remarkably, echo what today we call the balance of giving and receiving, asset and liability in the calculations of the Higher Reason.

Let us walk through the centuries and listen to those who spoke of this long before us.

A City Without Walls: What Hermes Trismegistus Taught

In ancient Egypt, at the dawn of the Hermetic tradition, it was believed that a human being is not merely a body, but a complex system of energies, fields, and vibrations. And if this system is disturbed, if darkness, envy, or fear have settled in the soul, then adverse influences from outside enter the person without difficulty.

Here is how Hermes Trismegistus expressed it figuratively: "O my son, he whose soul is not purified is like a city without walls, into which any enemy may enter."

Take note: this is not about putting on an amulet or reciting an incantation. It is about inner wholeness. The walls of the city are our moral purity, our ability to be honest with ourselves and with the world. If there is chaos within, no external protection will help. This is precisely what those who seek quick techniques forget, without changing their inner state.

Hermes knew: an energy-informational affliction begins not with a neighbor's "evil eye," but with a crack within us ourselves.

The One Who Cannot Be Stung: The Wisdom of Laozi

Let us move to ancient China. Laozi, the founder of Taoism, taught about De, an inner virtue that is at once both strength and protection. He said: "He who is filled with De can neither be stung nor struck. For in him there is no place for poison to enter."

What a profound thought. "There is no place for poison to enter." In other words, if a person is inwardly full, full of his meanings, his light, his inner support, then a foreign influence simply cannot catch hold of him. It has nothing to cling to. It is like a polished surface from which any dirt simply slides away.

And here we come to an important point: energy protection is not aggression, not closedness, not suspiciousness. It is fullness. It is when there are no voids in you that someone else could fill with their own will.

The Demons Crowding at the Door: Pythagoras's Warning

The great Pythagoras, known to most of us for his theorem, was in fact a mystic and the founder of a school in which the harmony of spheres, numbers, and the soul was studied. And he warned his students: "Before healing the body, heal the space around yourself. For invisible demons crowd around the one who has himself opened the door to them."

By "demons," Pythagoras did not mean horned monsters, but lower astral influences, clots of fear, malice, and envy, which truly can "stick" to a person if his own field is weakened or polluted.

These "demons," what today we would call "energy-informational afflictions," do not come from somewhere far away. They are drawn to us when we ourselves open the door with our own negative thoughts, resentments, and the desire to take revenge on someone or prove ourselves right at any cost.

Pythagoras taught: the door is closed not by an incantation, but by purity of intention and clarity of mind.

Not Against Flesh and Blood: The Revelation of the Apostle Paul

Even in the early Christian tradition, which many perceive as purely physical and ecclesiastical, there was a direct indication of an invisible battle. The Apostle Paul wrote: "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."

Read that once again. He is not speaking about neighbors, colleagues, or politicians. He is speaking about structures that act on the subtle plane. About those very "rulers of the darkness" which today may manifest themselves as informational noise, as the imposition of alien thoughts, as sudden attacks of apathy or aggression with no visible cause.

Thousands of years ago, people knew that the world is not limited to matter. And afflictions come not only through physical injuries, but also through subtle channels.

Asset and Liability in the Calculations of the Higher Reason

All these sages, Hermes, Laozi, Pythagoras, Plotinus, Paul, spoke in different languages, yet about one and the same thing. And their thoughts come down to a strikingly simple formula, one you will rarely encounter in textbooks, yet one that lives within an obvious integral thinking concept for the modern person. It sounds like this:

"Give more than you took, and the world will not forget. Asset and liability in the calculations of the Higher Reason."

Let us decipher this in relation to our theme of energy protections.

Liability is the state of a person who is used only to taking. He takes other people's attention, their time, their energy, their resources. He complains, demanding sympathy. He manipulates in order to get his way. And at the same time, he gives almost nothing back to the world. Such a person is like an energetic "black hole." And the Higher Reason, which keeps flawless accounts, records him as a liability. What does this mean for protection? Through the debt that has formed, through this "hole," any afflictions easily penetrate: the evil eye, damage, obsessive states, attachments. Because the person has himself created within his own being a void that demands to be filled, and it is filled by whoever happens to come along.

Asset is the state in which you consciously, without strain and without self-sacrifice, begin to give the world more than you took. Not out of guilt, but out of fullness and an understanding of the laws. You give attention, a kind word, help, energy, knowledge. And then the Higher Reason transfers you into the category of assets. The world does not forget such people. Protection arises naturally, like in a healthy organism that itself rejects what is foreign. It becomes "impossible to break through" to you, because there are no longer any voids left inside.

This is the highest form of energy protection. It is not in amulets and not in complicated rituals, although they may help as auxiliary means. It is in balance. In how you live each of your days.
